Privacy Policy for DataBee
Effective Date: August 10, 2026
Last Updated: August 10, 2026
At DataBee (“we,” “our,” or “us”), we value your trust and are committed to protecting your personal data. This Privacy Policy outlines how we collect, use, process, and retain your information when you access our website at DataBee, manage your account via console.databee.dev, use our APIs directly, or access our services via third-party marketplaces.
1. Information We Collect
A. Authentication & Account Credentials (Clerk)
We use Clerk for identity management and session security. When you sign up or log in via Google or GitHub OAuth, we collect:
- Name, public username, and profile picture URL.
- Primary email address.
- Unique OAuth user identifiers provided by Google or GitHub.
B. Payment & Financial Data (NOWPayments)
We accept cryptocurrency and digital payments processed via NOWPayments.
- We do not collect or store your raw wallet private keys or personal financial institution details.
- We process transaction metadata provided by NOWPayments, including payment status, transaction IDs, wallet addresses used for payment, amount paid, and assigned credit balances.
C. API Marketplaces & Distribution Platforms (RapidAPI & Apify)
If you access or subscribe to DataBee APIs through third-party platforms such as RapidAPI or Apify:
- Authentication, subscription management, and billing are handled directly by the respective platform according to their terms.
- We collect API usage logs, request parameters, IP addresses, and platform-specific developer IDs solely to execute queries, enforce rate limits, and maintain API uptime.
D. Direct Sign-Ups & Communications (Resend)
If you subscribe directly or create an account, we collect your email address to deliver operational, status, and promotional communications using Resend.
E. Automatically Collected Data & Infrastructure Logs
- Google Analytics: We collect anonymized IP addresses, browser types, operating system details, device telemetry, and page navigation metrics to analyze site performance.
- Technical Server Logs: When you make requests to the DataBee API, our edge network automatically records standard HTTP log data. This includes your IP address, API key hash, user-agent string, timestamp, request parameters, and response status codes.
2. How We Use Your Information
We process your data for the following operational and service-related purposes:
- API Operations & Credit Tracking: To provision API keys, monitor usage quotas, manage purchased API credits, and maintain platform stability.
- Communications: To send welcome emails, platform status alerts, API release announcements, system maintenance notices, newsletters, and account updates via Resend.
- Payment Verification: To confirm transaction completions via NOWPayments and reflect credit balances in your account.
- Security & System Health: To protect our endpoints against abuse, enforce rate limits, manage IP reputation, and defend against Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attacks.
3. Public Data Processing & Scraped Content
DataBee acts as a technical infrastructure provider and data processor. When users query our APIs to extract or analyze publicly available web data, users remain the sole Data Controller of the target data. DataBee does not intentionally scrape or process Non-Public Personal Data (NPPD) or Personally Identifiable Information (PII) beyond what is publicly available on the web and explicitly requested by the API caller. Users are solely responsible for ensuring that their use of extracted data complies with applicable privacy laws and third-party terms of service.
4. Third-Party Service Providers
We share necessary data with selected third-party service providers who assist in operating DataBee:

5. API Credits, Credit Expiration & Self-Service Account Deletion
-
Self-Service Account Deletion: You can permanently delete your account and associated profile data at any time directly from the developer portal at console.databee.dev via your account management dashboard.
-
Credit Expiration Policy: Purchased or promotional API credits expire 12 months from the date of issuance or purchase unless explicitly stated otherwise in your plan.
-
Irreversible Credit Forfeiture: When you trigger an account deletion on
console.databee.dev, our system automatically and permanently purges your account profile, authentication records, and credit transaction logs from our active databases. Because these logs are permanently erased to comply with privacy regulations: -
Any active, unused, or unexpired API credits are immediately forfeited.
-
We cannot verify, restore, or refund any credit balances once the deletion process is completed in the console.
-
Data Retention: Transaction logs required for tax, legal auditing, or anti-fraud purposes are retained in an anonymized or aggregated format as permitted by applicable law.
6. Email Communications & Opt-Outs
- Transactional & Status Emails: Critical emails regarding your account security, API rate limits, downtime notifications, or billing transactions are necessary for service delivery and cannot be opted out of while maintaining an active account.
- Marketing & Announcements: You can opt out of newsletters, feature updates, and API announcements at any time by clicking the Unsubscribe link at the bottom of any marketing email sent via Resend.
7. Cookies and Tracking Technologies
- Essential Session Cookies: Deployed via Clerk to secure your authentication state. These are required for login functionality.
- Analytics Cookies: Deployed via Google Analytics (
_ga,_gid) to measure interaction metrics and site navigation.
You can manage or disable cookies through your browser settings, though disabling essential session cookies will prevent login access to the developer console.
8. International Data Transfers
Your personal information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in countries other than your country of residence (including the United States and European Union), where our third-party infrastructure providers operate. By using DataBee, you consent to the transfer of your information to facilities located outside your home jurisdiction, which may have different data protection rules than those of your country.
9. Your Rights & Choices
Depending on your location, you have the right to request access to your personal data, request corrections, or request account deletion. You may exercise self-service account deletion directly at console.databee.dev. For other requests, please contact us through our official support channel. Please review Section 5 regarding the irreversible removal of credit logs prior to requesting account deletion.
10. Children’s Privacy
DataBee is not directed to individuals under the age of 13 (or 16 in certain jurisdictions). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us for prompt deletion.
11. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect operational, legal, or regulatory changes. We will notify you of material changes by updating the “Last Updated” date at the top of this policy or via direct communication where appropriate.
